Kevin Harvick qualified 19th for tonight's race, with a lap of 125.681 mph. He also qualified 19th for last week's race at Talladega. Harvick has not had a top-10 starting spot since the fourth race of the season, at Atlanta, where he started 10th.

Harvick goes into the race 20th in the Sprint Cup standings, 381 points behind leader Kurt Busch and 145 points out of The Chase.

Race Day: At 6:46 p.m., it's stopped raining for the most part in Richmond. Rain showers, however, are in forecast for tonight.

Pre-Race: Kevin Harvick will drive Chasssis No. 212 at Richmond. Casey Mears drove the same chassis earlier this year to a 20th-place finish at Phoenix and a 21st-place effort at Martinsville. Clint Bowyer won with the car at New Hampshire in September 2007 and again at Richmond in this race last year. In 15 starts at Richmond, Harvick has one win, one pole, four top-five and 10 top-10 finishes.

This will be Harvick's first race with crew chief Gil Martin and the team that formerly backed Mears, a swap made this week.

Richard Childress is tied with Bud Moore for fourth-most wins by an owner at Richmond -- five with Dale Earnhardt, one with Harvick and another by Bowyer. Childress himself scored three top-10 finishes at Richmond as a driver between 1976 and 1978.
