Lap 200: Harvick and Johnson are going after each other for 12th place. Harvick clears Johnson in the tunnel turn, but Johnson slips back underneath on the short chute. Harvick takes the spot at the finish line.

Lap 198: Two laps to go ... Harvick tries to duck under Johnson in turn one, but can't make the move stick.

Lap 195: Five laps remaining, Harvick is still 13th. He's on the bumper of 12th-place Jimmie Johnson, but can't make a move yet.

Lap 190: With 10 laps to go, Harvick still finds himself locked in traffic. He's 15th, 5.39 seconds behind leader Denny Hamlin.

Lap 188: Somehow, after all the scrambling, Harvick lost only one position.

Lap 187: The pack is stacked up as wild and wooly as it's been all day, and Harvick's right in the thick of it.

Lap 186: The green flag falls again. Harvick is 14th.

Lap 180: Harvick is just ahead of a multicar crash in turn one. He's 13th when the caution period begins.

Lap 179: The restart takes place with Harvick running 15th.

Lap 174: Harvick is feeling much better about the decision to take on tires during his last stop. He tells crew chief Gil Martin, "I would've kicked your a** if you'd told me that five laps ago."

Lap 173: Harvick very narrowly misses David Reutimann's spinning car on the frontstretch. The caution is out, and Harvick is now 13th in the running order.

Lap 172: Racing is intense as the laps wind down. Harvick has already moved up to 18th.

Lap 170: Harvick is 25th when the green flag comes back out.

Lap 167: Harvick pits, perhaps for the final time today. The stop lasts 13.8 seconds. However, it appears that several other cars took two tires and/or fuel, dropping Harvick to 26th off pit road.

Lap 166: Crew chief Gil Martin says that everybody can make it the rest of the way on fuel.

Lap 165: Debris brings out another caution.

Lap 162: Busch finally clears Harvick, and Greg Biffle tries to follow him past. It doesn't work.

Lap 161: Harvick is battling Kyle Busch hard for eighth place.

Lap 160: The green flag falls with 40 laps to go. Harvick is ninth. He'll have to make at least one more stop for fuel.

Lap 157: The caution is out for Robby Gordon's spin. Harvick is still ninth.

Lap 152: Harvick is ninth when the green flag drops again.

Lap 149: Robby Gordon's spin brings out the caution.

Lap 147: Harvick is battling Matt Kenseth for 10th place. He takes the spot going into the tunnel turn and then goes after Kasey Kahne for ninth on the frontstretch.

Lap 146: The green flag is out again. Harvick is 11th.

Lap 143: At the last second, crew chief Gil Martin calls for a two-tire stop. The stop lasts just 6.6 seconds, and Harvick rolls off pit lane in 11th place.

Lap 141: The caution is out for David Ragan's brush with the wall. Harvick says the car was good on that run, and wants to just take tires on this stop.

Lap 135: The cycle of green-flag stops is over. Harvick is 18th, 31.98 seconds behind leader Kasey Kahne.

Lap 133: Harvick slows to make his way onto pit road. He takes four tires, fuel and adjustments during his 13.6-second stop. Overall, the team's pit stops have been much better today.

Lap 132: Harvick will wait another lap to pit, so he won't have a car in front of him on pit road when he stops. He's shown as the leader as others continue to come in for service.

Lap 130: Some of the leaders have already pitted, so with 70 laps remaining in the race, Harvick is listed in 11th place.

Lap 120: When leader Kasey Kahne crosses the start-finish line, 19th-place Harvick is coming off the tunnel turn. On the clock, that's a deficit of a little over 21 seconds.

Lap 116: Crew chief Gil Martin asks if the car is any better, and Harvick says that it is. The No. 29 red-and-yellow Chevrolet is currently 20th, 18.69 seconds behind leader Kasey Kahne.

Lap 106: Harvick says that Richard Childress Racing teammate Clint Bowyer has hit the fence. There's no caution.

Lap 105: Traffic has thinned out some. Harvick is currently 21st, 8.98 seconds behind leader Kasey Kahne.

Lap 102: Harvick was right ... he's mired in heavy traffic.

Lap 101: The green flag is shown once more. Just before the restart, Harvick tells his spotter to be careful. "This could be a mess," he says, because of the cars that chose to stay on the track during the caution.

Lap 100: The race reaches the halfway point while still under caution. Harvick is 26th in the running order.

Lap 98: Harvick drops onto pit road with the rest of the leaders. It takes 14.6 seconds to finish the crew's work.

Lap 96: The caution is out, and immediately, Harvick and crew chief Gil Martin plan what changes they'll make on their stop.

Lap 94: Harvick wants to try something other than an air-pressure change to help his car's handling.

Lap 93: The car is too loose after the stop.

Lap 85: Harvick pits, and it takes 17.6 seconds to finish up.

Lap 82: Shown 20th on the field, Harvick appears to have settled into a groove on the track. He's pretty much by himself on the track.

Lap 76: Harvick is now 21st, 18.33 seconds behind leader Denny Hamlin.

Lap 74: The car needs a little more rear grip, and the car will be good, according to Harvick.

Lap 69: Harvick says, "This is awesome ... they're racing hard!!!"

Lap 67: In heavy traffic, Harvick has moved up to 28th.

Lap 66: Up for a little more racing? The green flag is back out with Harvick running 32nd.

Lap 63: Harvick is on pit road under the caution. The stop takes 14.4 seconds to complete. Harvick thinks the team will be in good shape on four tires, while most of the leaders stayed on the track.

Lap 61: The caution is back out for debris. Ironically, it's for the cover of a caution light that fell onto the racing surface.

Lap 57: The green flag comes back out, with Harvick shown in 34th place.

Lap 56: Harvick says of the dispute with NASCAR, "It'll all good." Both he and crew chief Gil Martin says they'll get the spots back.

Lap 54: NASCAR has apparently ruled that Harvick didn't beat the caution car off pit road. He's currently shown in 34th place. The issue is being discussed ... big time!

Lap 53: The Shell Chevrolet drops onto pit road for its second stop of the day. While Harvick is in his stall, the caution comes out for Paul Menard's flat tire.

Lap 52: Harvick will be pitting on the next lap.

Lap 50: Harvick has dropped a couple of positions, and now runs 14th, 23.64 seconds behind leader Denny Hamlin.

Lap 48: Harvick says the car is "terrible sideways," and will most likely come in a lap earlier than planned. Look for him on pit road in the next few circuits.

Lap 44: The rear of Harvick's car "is really sliding now."

Lap 41: The current plan is for Harvick to pit again in about 14 laps.

Lap 40: Harvick says the front of his car is still a little too tight.

Lap 38: Harvick is still 12th, trailing leader Denny Hamlin by 11.3 seconds.

Lap 32: The changes made during the stop have helped, but Harvick thinks he might get a little free as the run continues.

Lap 29: Harvick, who has dropped back a car length or two, still trails Vickers for 12th place.

Lap 27: Brian Vickers refuses to give up 11th easily. He and Harvick go side by side for nearly a full lap.

Lap 26: Harvick tries getting under Juan Pablo Montoya for 10th place on the frontstretch, but can't make the move stick. He drops back to 12th.

Lap 25: Harvick takes the restart in 12th place. He actually picked up three spots on pit road.

Lap 24: The green flag has been waved off.

Lap 22: The leaders enter pit road. Harvick takes four tires, fuel and adjustments to correct the tightness in his car. The stop lasts 14.2 seconds, prompting Harvick to say, "Good job, guys."

Lap 20: After waiting for every car on the lead lap to pass the starter's stand, NASCAR throws the planned yellow flag. Pit stops have been an issue for Harvick in recent weeks, so this stop could be critical.

Lap 18: Now running 15th, Harvick has finally made his way past Reutimann.

Lap 15: Five laps from the competition caution, Harvick again tells crew chief Gil Martin that he needs substantial changes during the upcoming pit stop.

Lap 14: Harvick says he's about to "eat up" Reutimann, but the No. 00 holds him off coming off turn two.

Lap 10: Despite a tight handling condition, Harvick continues to pick off positions. He's up to 16th, and is challenging David Reutimann for 15th.

Lap 9: The car is starting to get tight everywhere. Harvick tells crew chief Gil Martin what changes he wants made on the team's first stop, and Martin agrees.

Lap 7: Harvick's having a hard time getting into turn one due to the car's handling problem.

Lap 6: Harvick says that he's "a little bit too tight right now," but adds that he thinks it'll get better once he's out of traffic.

Lap 3: There's a competition caution scheduled for lap 20, due to the heavy rains this weekend that washed rubber off the track.

Lap 3: A little more than five miles into the race, and Harvick has gained four spots, to 19th.

Lap 1: Harvick goes four wide on the long backstretch, but gets down to just two wide as they approach the tunnel turn.

12:20 p.m.: The green flag is out!!! The green flag is out!!! The green flag is out!!!

12:18 p.m.: The field is given the one-lap-to-green signal at the starter's stand. Today's race is 200 laps, 500 miles.

12:14 p.m.: Cars are on the track, on a sunny and nearly cloudless day.

12:09 p.m.: After qualifying was rained out, Kevin Harvick will start 23rd due to the team's position in the car owner point standings.

12:07 p.m.: Grand Marshal Tom Foley gives the command to fire engines.

12:01 p.m.: After the invocation by the Pocono Raceway track chaplain, Clark Luis sings the National Anthem ... again!!!

Aug. 3, 11:58 a.m.: OK ... let's try this again. Ready to rock and roll?

4:17 p.m.: The race has officially been postponed. See ya tomorrow!!!

2:09 p.m.: Crews are still trying to dry the track, under a very overcast sky.

Race Day: 2:01 p.m.: Clarke Louis sings the National Anthem.

Pre-Race: The car Kevin Harvick is driving this weekend is the same one he's driven in the previous two Sprint Cup events. Harvick took it to a sixth-place showing last week at Indy.

In 17 Cup starts at Pocono, Harvick has two top-five and five top-10 finishes. His best showing at the triangular 2.5-mile race track was a fourth in the summer event last year.

Richard Childress has 102 total Cup starts at Pocono as a team owner. The organization has two wins here, both of them coming with Dale Earnhardt.
