Lap 75: Harvick is 16th on the leaderboard, 23.95 seconds behind Kyle Busch. Harvick is just a straightaway or so in front of the leader.
Lap 59: After the cycle of green-flag stops, Harvick is 17th, 21.61 seconds behind leader Kyle Busch.
Lap 54: Harvick brings the Shell Chevrolet onto pit road. His first stop of the day is a good one, lasting 14.8 seconds.
Lap 53: Harvick should be pitting in a couple of laps.
Lap 47: Harvick picked up two-tenths of a second over his previous lap. He's shown in 21st place, 23.36 seconds behind leader Kurt Busch.

Lap 30: Harvick continues, saying that the car is loose in the center of the turns, and adds that he can't push the throttle coming off the corners.
Lap 32: Harvick says the car is loose getting into the turns and tight off.
Lap 27: It's been eight laps since the caution ended, and Harvick has gained only one spot. He hasn't said anything else, however, about how the car is handling.

Lap 7: Team owner Richard Childress asks crew chief Gil Martin about the possibility of rain in the area. Martin says that it's at least a couple hours away.
Lap 3: Jimmie Johnson's crash on the backstretch brings out the yellow flag. Harvick says that his car is "really plowing" on top of the track and chattering the tires. Also involved in Johnson's crash was Sam Hornish Jr.
3:34 p.m.: The green flag is out!!!
3:33 p.m.: The race will go green the next time by the starter's stand. Today's race is 334 laps, 500 miles.
3:32 p.m.: As has been customary, team owner Richard Childress wishes Harvick well.
3:23 p.m.: The legendary rock band ZZ Top gives the command to fire engines.

Race Day, 3:15 p.m.: A moment of silence is held for victims of the shooting at Fort Hood, Texas this week. Also Dr. Roger Marsh gives the invocation.
Pre-Race: The car that Kevin Harvick is driving this weekend in Texas has been raced on three previous occasions, with two top-10 finishes to its credit.
In 13 Cup starts at Texas, Harvick has two top-five and five top-10 finishes. His best finish is a third in 2006. Harvick is slated to start 24th in today's event.
