Lap 191: Harvick is credited with a 23rd-place finish. He's now finished 20th or worse in the last five races at Talladega.
Lap 190: There's another big wreck, this time in front of Harvick. His spotter tells him to back down, then come down pit road.

Lap 495: Scott Speed, who has had his share of trouble today, pastes the wall again. The caution is out.
Lap 493: Traffic has still not sorted itself out after the restart. Harvick is in 10th place, 3.48 seconds behind leader Denny Hamlin.
Lap 489: Harvick is 13th when the green flag comes back out.
Lap 334: Harvick finishes 18th.
Lap 324: The car is still "plowing," according to Harvick.
Lap 322: Harvick has dropped back to 19th since the green flag. He's 5.66 seconds behind leader Jimmie Johnson.
Lap 318: The Shell Chevrolet is 15th when the race gets back under way.
Lap 313: After going four wide into turn three, Greg Biffle crashes on the frontstretch to cause another caution. Harvick is just behind the incident when it takes place, but he's able to drive past unscathed.
Lap 309: The green flag is out with Harvick listed 18th in the running order.
Lap 250: Harvick finishes 10th. It's his third top-10 finish in the last six races.
Lap 249: Harvick slides by Ryan Newman for 11th place.
Lap 248: When the green flag flies again, Harvick is 15th. After stopping, Harvick has to hustle into his place in line.
Lap 247: Harvick pits for four tires. The stop lasts 14.8 seconds.
Lap 246: It appears that Harvick will pit the next lap, although it'll be one to go before the green.
7:19 p.m.: The field begins to roll again.
Lap 267: Harvick finishes 24th, one lap down to race winner Tony Stewart. The effort duplicates his second-worst finish ever at Kansas.
Lap 265: "The motor's quittin'," Harvick reports.
Lap 254: Harvick is still upset.
Lap 247: Harvick says, "Take everything we've done this weekend and throw it in the freakin' garbage."
Lap 243: Harvick charges up on a three-wide battle going into turn three. Everything gets sorted out without incident.
Lap 242: Harvick is 25th when the race gets under way once more.
Lap 299: It's Allmendinger around again right in the middle of the frontstretch, Harvick goes to the low side to avoid him -- and then NASCAR officials let the field race to the checkered flag with Allmendinger's car almost stopped. Harvick is credited with 32nd place, unofficially.
Lap 297: Green with three laps to go.
Lap 296: Lining them up for the restart. With the damage to Earnhardt Jr.'s car, Harvick has moved up to 32nd.
Lap 293: A.J. Allmendinger spins to bring out caution No. 10.
Lap 290: Ten laps to go.
Lap 400: Harvick finishes ninth. It's second his second top-10 finish in a row. Not since the last three races of the 2008 season has Harvick scored top 10s in consecutive events.
Lap 398: Jimmie Johnson tries going high around Harvick, but it doesn't stick.
Lap 396: Brian Vickers, on The Chase bubbles, is trying his best to keep Harvick from taking over eighth place.
Lap 387: Harvick is 10th when the green comes back out.
Lap 325: Harvick finishes second, his best showing since another runnerup effort in the Daytona 500. It's also Harvick's first top-five finish since running fourth at Atlanta in the spring.
Lap 318: Kahne's lead is 1.37 seconds, but on the track, it looks like three miles as the laps wind down.
Lap 315: Kasey Kahne gets under Harvick for the lead on the backstretch.
Lap 315: Harvick chooses the outside line for the restart. There are 11 laps to go.
Lap 500: Kyle Busch holds Mark Martin off for the win. Harvick is credited with a 38th-place finish, 61 laps down.
Lap 458: Crew chief Gil Martin says to "pull the plug" on making repairs. Harvick is shown in 36th place, 20 laps down to leader Kyle Busch.
Lap 451: The plan is to hopefully get Harvick back on the track for the last lap, but crew chief Gil Martin says the damage is pretty severe.
Lap 200: Harvick holds Matt Kenseth off for 12th place as they come to the stripe. It's his second 12th-place showing in the last three races.
Lap 190: Crew chief Gil Martin implores Harvick to "save all you can ... I know you are."
Lap 187: Harvick says, "We're in big, big trouble here."
Lap 184: Harvick is now out of the top 10. He's running 11th, 9.33 seconds behind leader Jimmie Johnson.
Lap 181: There's talk of debris in turn one.
Lap 180: Harvick says the car is "dead sideways". Teammate Casey Mears has also passed him for eighth place.
Lap 90: Harvick logs a 35th-place finish, 22 laps down to race winner Tony Stewart. It's only the second time in nine Cup starts at Watkins Glen that Harvick has finished lower than 15th. Harvick tells his crew, referring to the team's luck, "I don't even know what to say. It's all got to turn some time."
Lap 200: Harvick and Johnson are going after each other for 12th place. Harvick clears Johnson in the tunnel turn, but Johnson slips back underneath on the short chute. Harvick takes the spot at the finish line.
Lap 198: Two laps to go ... Harvick tries to duck under Johnson in turn one, but can't make the move stick.
Lap 195: Five laps remaining, Harvick is still 13th. He's on the bumper of 12th-place Jimmie Johnson, but can't make a move yet.
Lap 190: With 10 laps to go, Harvick still finds himself locked in traffic. He's 15th, 5.39 seconds behind leader Denny Hamlin.
Lap 160: Harvick gets a fender under Vickers between turns one and two, but isn't able to make the pass. He tries again in the final turn, but settles for sixth place. It's his first top-10 finish since running fourth March 8 at Atlanta. Harvick's car will be one of the random tear-downs in post-race inspection.
Lap 157: Harvick has caught Vickers for fifth place.
Lap 154: Crew chief Gil Martin tells Harvick that if he doesn't think he can catch Vickers for fifth place, to drop back and conserve fuel. Harvick asks if he has to save gas, and Martin says that he doesn't.
Lap 267: Checkered flag falls on winner Mark Martin as Kevin Harvick winds up 19th, the last car on the lead lap. Crew chief Gil Martin comments, "Good night right there. We didn't get the finish we wanted, but we'll try harder next week."
That ties Harvick's worst-ever finish at Chicagoland (2005). However, it is his best finish since Michigan, when he scored an 18th. His last top-10 came at Atlanta, in the fourth race of the season.
Lap 266: White flag.
Lap 264: Green flag, three laps to go. Harvick is now 19th.
Lap 160: There's a huge wreck at the checkered flag, with then-leader Kyle Busch spinning across the finish line. Harvick finishes 27th.
Lap 156: The green flag comes back with five laps to go. Harvick is 25th in the running order.
Lap 154: Harvick is on pit road, hopefully for the last time tonight. He doesn't need gas to make it to the end, but takes some any way in order to have the weight at the back of the car.
5:42 p.m.: The race has been called. Harvick finishes 34th, 42 laps behind winner Joey Logano.
Lap 273: Cars are stopped on pit road, but Harvick is insistent that it has stopped raining. The red flag is out.
Lap 266: The caution is out for rain.
Lap 264: Harvick gives another weather report, clicking on the radio and saying, "It's raining pretty good now." Harvick is currently shown 34th, 42 laps back.
Lap 263: Harvick says that it's raining.
Lap 113: Harvick finishes the afternoon 29th. As he takes the checkered flag, Harvick apologizes to the crew. "I'm sorry guys. That was really, really stupid on my part." Childress tells him to "keep diggin'."
Lap 112: Harvick avoids an accident in the hairpin.
Lap 111: The end of the race is almost in sight as the green flag is unfurled for the last time today. Harvick is 36th.
Lap 110: Harvick pits to repair damage from his scrape with the tires.
Lap 108: The caution slows the pace with just two full laps to go. That means the race will end in a green-white-checkered finish.
Lap 200: The race is over. Harvick is shown in 18th, and after the checkered flag, the driver insists the team figure out its air pressure problems. Martin says that it's all they'll work on during practice next week.
Lap 190: With 10 laps to go, Harvick is 19th, 30.83 seconds behind leader Greg Biffle.
Lap 182: Harvick wants to know if everybody can make it on gas. Martin says that not everyone can, and adds that Harvick should be fine on fuel.
Lap 178: Harvick asks how many laps are left in the race.
Lap 200: Harvick finishes 24th.
Lap 190: On fresher tires, Harvick has been able to pull away and keep from going a lap down to leader Tony Stewart.
Lap 183: Harvick drops quickly onto pit road. He takes right-side tires and fuel on a stop that lasts just 7.8 seconds.
Lap 178: Harvick will probably be two laps short of finishing the race without stopping.
Lap 170: To put it mildly, Harvick is not happy with the car's handling. He has dropped back to 25th.
Lap 400: Harvick finishes 17th. It's his third top-20 finish in the last nine races.
Lap 380: With 20 laps to go, Harvick has made his way to 15th.
Lap 373: Harvick is 17th on the restart.
Lap 369: David Stremme and David Reutimann wreck in front of Harvick on the frontstretch, but Harvick is able to check up and avoid getting caught up in the mishap. The caution is out.
Lap 368: Harvick restarts the race 19th and back on the lead lap.
6:25 p.m.: The race has been called due to rain. Harvick's 41st-place finish duplicates the worst showing of his career. He also finished 41st at Michigan in 2001, and at Martinsville in 2007.
5:57 p.m.: After letting up considerably, rain is falling again and there are dark and ominous clouds behind turn two.
Lap 227: For the third time today, the red flag is out for weather. Harvick is in 41st place.
Lap 224: Harvick's spotter says it's raining on the spotter's stand atop the suite roof, and Harvick adds that it's raining all the way through turns one and two.
Lap 367: Harvick finishes 11th. It's his best showing since running 10th at Atlanta on March 8.
Lap 365: Matt Kenseth moves past Harvick into 10th.
Lap 349: Harvick moves into 10th place, past Richard Childress Racing teammate Jeff Burton.
Lap 347: With 20 laps to go, 11th-place Harvick trails leader Mark Martin by 2.94 seconds.
Lap 346: When the race resumes, Harvick is 11th under the green flag.
Lap 342: Dale Earnhardt Jr. crashes on the frontstretch, and the yellow is out for the 17th time.
